Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Healing Your Entire Body and Face

Practiced in China as early as the Sung Dynasty, facial acupuncture is a safe, gentle and effective way to rejuvenate the face to reduce the signs of aging and works proactively to benefit the skin before the appearance of fine lines

As you age, the 57 muscles in your face gradually lose their tone and mass. Loss of tone and mass causes the sagging, deep wrinkling and tired look associated with aging. Acupuncture stimulates the muscle function, and the face lifts itself via the acupuncture points. Thus returning the face to a healthier, revitalized, youthful appearance.

How it works:

Holistic Body Treatment

Chinese medicine is based on the principle that health is manifested from the inside out. The patient is holistically evaluated using traditional Chinese Medicine principals as the treatment will work with the entire body to improve the flow of blood and qi to the face.  As we age, the bodies digestion slows down, circulation to the face diminishes and hormone production is reduced. By treating the body with points corresponding to the patient’s individual needs, acupuncture can promote better digestion improving nutrients within the blood, as well as increase the body’s immunity and circulation. Using this holistic approach, not only do your frown lines disappear, you feel better overall, sleep better, have more energy and better digestion. Hair thin needles are first placed within the body to correspond to the patients individual needs.

After the body is relaxed the next step is needles are placed within specific acupuncture points on the face in addition to specific areas of concern which need to be addressed. The micro-trauma created from the needle insertion will stimulate the immune system and wound-healing mechanism creating a cascade healing effect within the body. The skin’s nerve receptors and defense mechanisms sense these fine needles as an injury and skin cells within 1-2mm radius around the needle will release growth signals to skin stem cells. These signals also stimulate rapid grown of new fibroblasts and other wound repairing cells which convert into collagen fibers in the upper dermis of skin, typically taking 28 days for collagen production . Collagen fibers thicken the skin, filling in wrinkles and encourage the growth of healthy new skin cells. Further, new venous capillaries and arterial capillaries form around the injury increasing the flow of blood to upper dermis and reducing inflammation and puffiness, giving skin a brighter more youthful appearance.

Facial cupping:

Small glass cups are used to relax tight facial muscles and smooth fine lines. Cupping will stimulate improvement of the lymphatic system of the face and neck and move out stagnant lymph fluids and toxins from the face and neck. This will reduce facial puffiness and can be especially beneficial for those suffering with facial sinus issues. Facial cupping will strengthen the vascular integrity of the face with time providing an overall tighter and toned appearance of the face and neck. As cupping promotes the circulation of blood and movement of local red inflammation, it can be used to treat certain skin conditions such as Rosacea

Facial Guasha:

Performed gently with a jade tool, gua sha is a gentle scraping technique used as the last step of the facial treatment. Gua Sha can help with deep wrinkles, sagging, facial discoloration and under eye puffiness and has been found to be very beneficial for lip wrinkles, crows feet, nasolabial folds and forehead lines. Gua sha improves microcirculation by causing a microtrauma, opening pores to detoxify the skin.

Jade has been found to create a static electromagnetic field with the human body and regular use of jade will improve circulation, soften blood vessels, improve quality of blood and smoothe out wrinkles
